Our own relationship was built on three years of long-distance correspondence. These were heady days of self-expression and creative gestures of getting-to-know-you. Mix tapes played an important part: “Wichita Lineman,” Bis and Spice Girls, Love & Rockets. Sent in both directions, the tapes are all now lost, but remain imprinted on our memories of each other. To do our bit to encourage the continued art of the music mix, we have created these illustrated blank CDs — decorated by us, but you supply the music for your friend or sweetie. This first series of designs is frankly sentimental. With their romantic illustrations and captions, they reflect the longing of long-distance. Each CD is homeprinted in England on a standard CD-R (80 minutes of music or 700mb worth of storage) and packaged in its own recycled card sleeve with sticker label. The set of four is packaged together in a printed recycled box.
